Galactic Guts by Long-Pham Galactic Guts by Long-Pham
I'm back into good old space art

-------

"A Planet that was ejected from it's orbit around it's sun and wanders freely in interstellar space is called a Planetar.
This is what happened to this rocky world a few billion years ago.
It's now the silent witness of the death of the galaxy it originated from.
This kind of cataclysmic event happens only rarely when the huge black hole found in a galaxy's center becomes too heavy to support it's own mass. "

Ow, that made my head hurt... :disbelief:

Black holes don't have an upper mass limit. Sorry, it's a great pic, but your patently unscientific comments just killed it.

Hypothetically, if a black hole attempted to absorb too much matter at once something crazy might happen at the quantum level just 'above' the event horizon. The in-falling matter, in this case, would spontaneously cause a MASSIVE detonation that interacted with the black hole's own gravity in such a way that the scenario in the picture becomes possible. Granted such an event would be incredibly improbable, but, since there is no such thing as impossibility or certainty within the realm of statistical probability, it could still happen. :wow: Wow..... I read way too many articles on theoretical physics...... Now I have a headache from blown brain fuses......
